The Harbor Lighthouse II

FAQs

What's the difference between assisted living and a nursing home?

Assisted living is designed for seniors who need help with everyday activities like bathing, dressing, and medication management, while still living in a warm, home-like environment. Nursing homes, on the other hand, are typically for people who need more intensive, skilled medical care, often for a shorter period of time, such as recovering from surgery or a serious illness.

At The Harbor Lighthouse II, we focus on supporting our residents' daily lives for the long term. Our caregivers help maintain consistent medication routines, provide nutritious, home-cooked meals, and create a safe, comfortable environment where every person is cared for with attention and dignity, day after day.

Can I schedule a tour before making a decision?

Yes, we would love to welcome you for a visit. You can schedule a private tour by calling us at 602-621-1583 or filling out our contact form. During your visit, you'll have the opportunity to tour the home, meet our caregivers, and ask any questions you may have before making a decision.

Do you provide care for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia?

Yes, absolutely. We know firsthand how difficult it can be for a family to watch a loved one go through memory loss, and how overwhelming it can feel trying to manage that care at home. Our caregivers are trained annually to support individuals living with Alzheimer's or dementia, offering steady routines, a calm environment, and safety measures designed with their wellbeing in mind. We're here to ease that burden and provide the support your family needs.

Do you accept Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) coverage?

Yes, we do. We are contracted with Banner University Family Care, Mercy Care, and United Healthcare Community Plan for ALTCS coverage. If you have questions about your specific coverage, we're happy to help guide you through the process, whether you're already approved or just getting started.

  • Mercy Care
  • United Healthcare Community Plan
What levels of care do you provide?

We are licensed to provide supervisory, personal, and directed care, allowing us to support a wide range of needs, from help with daily activities to more comprehensive daily support. In addition to long-term care, we also offer respite care for families who need short-term support.
